  9. The File Menu

  11.  New Game    [Keyboard 窶朗窶兢

  13. Starts a new game.  If there is currently a game in progress it will offer to save it for you.  The current map parameters will be used to generate a new map.

  17. Opens and reads a saved game from disk.  If there is a game in progress it will offer to save it first.  The demo version will not restore a game file, but will restore a template or rules file.  The demo version will write a game file, but will not write a template or rules file.

  19. You may also double click a saved game to open it directly from the finder. Using the finder窶冱 窶枠et info窶™ command you can 窶徑ock窶 a file.  Empire Master will treat a file locked in this way as a template file by opening it as an 窶忖ntitled窶 game.

Saves the current game erasing the previous version of the saved game.  If you have not saved the game yet this is the same as Save As窶ｦ  Note that Command-S menu equivalent is used for the sleep command unlike most applications which use Command-S as a menu key equivalent for the save command.

  27. Saves the current game to a file you specify with a standard file dialog.  The map is compressed, so that even large maps require less than 100K on disk.  The size of a saved game will increase as more of the world is explored.

Select any of the seven options panels.  Each of the option panels controls a different group of game parameters.  Radio controls on the left switch from one panel to any other.  (This is equivalent to clicking OK and selecting the other panel.  Cancel only affects the current panel.)  The 窶徨oot窶 menu item will select whichever panel was last chosen (and works on old Macs.)

  39. Quits the game.  As a game warfare can be fun, but in reality it is always a tragedy.  Perhaps when you quit the game you should consider for a moment what it would have been like if the game was real.
